Mclip - Auto approve

Post Posted: Wed Aug 20, 2008 8:03 am

Hi again, just a quick question: Is it possible in the free version to automatically approve submitted movies or do I have to have the commercial version for that?

In Admin -> Movie -> Config there's an option Require Admin approval : Yes / No. Set that to "No" and any user submitted movies will appear straight away.

The commercial version only adds 2 main additional features:-

1. A permission system, so you can create private categories not visible to all. Permissions are based on Group membership so it's easy to organise.

2. Users can upload moveis directly to your website, and if you have the necessary system resources uploaded .wmv / .mpg / .avi movies can be converted to .flv on the fly (or in other words do exactly what YouTube does!)

The reason I charge for these features is because a permission system gives you scope to charge your users for non-public content (if you're going to use my stuff for commercial purposes I don't see why you should get it for free), and if you can afford the server resources needed for .flv conversion you can afford to pay for the module anyway Wink

Hmm, I don't have this option on the Config page (see attached screenshot).

Oops, looks like I got the logic the wrong way round on the 2 versions Embarassed

Hopefully fixed, but you'll need to re-download the module from here:-

www.cmsdreams.co.uk/Do.../id=1.html

because there are a few places the logic is used which needed to be amended.
