Mclip - Thumbnails

Post Posted: Fri Aug 22, 2008 7:42 pm

I just start with the obligatory "THANK YOU"! I love mclip. Its PERFECT for my site. Youtube has a TON of videos that go perfectly with my content, and my users seem to be using it.

I've installed the latest update on my test site, and all seems to be working well, except the "thumbnails". I successfully uploaded a thumbnail for a particular video. But I still get the default image, and it says "No Thumbnails Available for this Movie"

The readme says "The module uses a hierarchy to decide what image to use on the display pages.

* If the movie has an image associated with it, that's the one used."

But that doesn't seem to be what is happening - Maybe I am just missing something?

Another related question, it seems it would support multiple thumbnails (since it says "thumbnails"), but I don't see how to upload multiple images?

I'll have to check the hierachy as all mine on this site use the default image supplied by YouTube, and I did deviate from my original plan at the suggestion of users, so I may have broken something along the way. Embarassed

The multiple thumbnails feature is part of the commercial version, and they're not uploaded, the module captures still images from uploaded movie files server-side as part of the conversion process. It's not a feature supported in the free version.

It could be just me Smile
I just had a couple of videos that had bad thumbs on youtube and made my own - not a big deal.

That might make it worth me purchasing, but right now I'm not having uploaded movies, just youtube, so I guess it wouldn't work. I suppose in the theme somewhere I can remove the tab for thumbnails then -I'll have to dig around Smile

Thanks again for your hard work!!!!
